PRODUCT & CARE
What are Lynette Reed Studio kitchen tea towels made from?
Our towels are made from 100% natural cotton, chosen for its absorbency, durability, and soft hand feel. They are designed to be used often and loved for years. We know there are plenty of options out there made from technical fabrics and recycled materials. We simply prefer the feel of natural cotton in the kitchen. Call us old fashioned.
Do the towels have a hanging loop?
They do. We appreciate beautiful things, and practicality too.
What size are the kitchen tea towels?
Our towels measure approximately 20" × 28" (50 × 70 cm). Large enough to tackle kitchen duty and beautiful enough to leave draped over the oven door.
How should I wash my towels?
Machine wash cold with similar colors. Tumble dry low or line dry.
Will the towels shrink?
As with most natural cotton products, a small amount of shrinkage may occur after the first wash.
Are they absorbent or decorative?
Yes. They dry dishes, wipe hands, line bread baskets, accompany impromptu wine and cheese nights, and generally make themselves useful. They also happen to make the kitchen look better. They're also one of our favorite hostess gifts. Wrap one around a bottle of wine, tie it with ribbon or simple kitchen twine, and you've suddenly elevated the whole gesture. We're not saying it leads to more dinner invitations. We're just saying it probably doesn't hurt.
Will the patterns look exactly like the photographs?
We do our best to accurately represent every design. Different screens interpret color differently, so slight variations may occur. Think of it as the digital world's version of bad lighting.
Are these original designs?
Yes. Every design begins as original artwork created by Lynette. No AI involved. Just paint, sketches, photographs, experimentation, and the occasional creative detour. Art doesn't have to be precious. Sometimes it hangs in a museum. Sometimes it's drying your wine glasses.
Where are your products made?
Our products are designed in Italy and produced in India by partners we are incredibly grateful to work with. They are not a faceless factory. They are talented people who believed in our vision from the start and have helped bring it to life through their skill, guidance, and craftsmanship. Their contribution can be found in every product we create, and we are proud to consider them part of the Lynette Reed Studio story.
Tea towel or kitchen towel... what's the difference?
Honestly, the terms are often used interchangeably, which is why we call ours Kitchen Tea Towels. Traditionally, a tea towel was a lightweight cloth used for drying delicate dishes and serving tea, while a kitchen towel was the hardworking utility player of the kitchen. Our kitchen tea towels are designed to do both: practical enough for everyday use and beautiful enough to leave out when company.
Can I iron them?
Of course. But if you're more of a "smooth it out with your hands and call it good" person, they'll survive that too.
ABOUT
Who is Lynette Reed?
Lynette Reed is an artist, designer, and entrepreneur whose work has been featured internationally. After decades of building creative businesses, she launched Lynette Reed Studio to bring her love of color, pattern, and storytelling into the home.
Is Lynette Reed Studio woman owned?
Yes. Lynette Reed Studio is proudly woman owned and artist led. Lynette founded the company, creates every design, and still has the final say. One of the perks of being the boss.
What makes Lynette Reed Studio different?
We don't start with trends. We start with art. Every collection begins in Lynette's studio and evolves through layers of painting, drawing, pattern, and experimentation before finding its way into your home. The result is a collection that feels expressive rather than expected. Pieces designed to be used every day, but special enough that people ask where you found them. Because the things you use every day deserve a little personality. Even if it's just a towel.
Does Lynette Reed Studio give back?
We're still in our early chapters, but yes. Building a business and figuring out how to make a meaningful contribution at the same time feels like the right way to do things. We're taking our time to find the right partnerships because we'd rather do it thoughtfully than just put a logo on a website and call it a day.
